Lloyd Tyrel, better know as Lloyd Charmers has been associated with Jamaican music from it's early days of  R&B, Shuffle e Boggie Woogie. He first came as a member of the vocal duo, "The Charmers" with Roy Willis. The duo notched up a handfull of recordings that would brought them the attention of Clement Dodd of Studio One. They have recorded many sides at Studio One giving them a lot of reputation being known and very popular on the Ska era. The Charmers in the mid 1966 embraced in Rockstaedy and it was aound this time Lloyd Charmers stared learning piano. In 1968 he was acomplished enough to form a band with some friends, The Hippy Boys were, Alva Reggie Lewis (Guitar), Aston "Family Man" Barrett (Bass), Carlton Barrett (Drums), Lloyd Charmers (Organ) and sometimes Maxwell Smith aka Max Romeo as vocalist. Playing for Bunny Lee as Bunny Lee All Stars and for Lee Perry as The Upstters the grooup have backed some of the finest artists such Pat Kelly, John Holt, Ken Parker, etc. This compilation focuses with no doubt  the best Lloyd's  instrumental productions from 1969 / 70 period, my favorites are Golden Moon", "Safari", "African Zulu", "Stronger", Rat Trap", don't ignore this masterpiece.
