Once Ijahman Levy said “…Reggae Portugal is growing slowly but surely…”

And all have started in July’s 1996 in the south of Portugal where Solar Reggae Radio show (now Reggae Portugal Radio Show at Kiss Fm)was smashing the airwaves every Sunday night between 9.00 pm and 11.00 pm, giving the best Reggae oldies and brand new releases from all over the World, supported musically since the beginning by such labels like Jet Star (UK), Ariwa Sounds (UK), Blood & Fire (UK), Pressure Sounds (UK), VP Recs (USA), RAS Recs (USA), Heartbeat Recs (USA), etc. In November’s 1999 the first Reggae webpage from Portugal has born, getting a lot of great reviews all over Portugal (on newspapers, etc) and internationally from a lot of labels and artists / bands themselves. In consequence of the great reactions regarding the webpage and Radio Show, that were already getting a larger audience all over Portugal, a lot of promoters have started asking us to put Live some of our work as a DJ. In the year 2000, already on the new millennium, Reggae Portugal Soundsystem have born, playing regularly on small venues, playing old and new tunes sent to us from all over the world. In December’s 2000, a promoter from Porto (north of Portugal) have asked us to play on two festivals, which we did having as a guest our friend Jimmy Riley, veteran Jamaican Reggae Artist straight from Kingston - Jamaica.

Since then we been playing in a lot Reggae parties all over Portugal, to the North to the South of Portugal giving the best vibes to the Portuguese Reggae Massive, playing oldies, new releases and specials from Portuguese / Jamaican and UK artists.
