The 18th Radio Show Aniversary Message

Massive, completou-se no dia 7 de Julho de 2014, 18anos após a difusão do 1° programa de reggae em directo desde o estudio 1 da Solar FM em Albufeira. Considero deveras importante, registar, creditar, todos os que de uma ou outra forma contribuíram para que este (projecto) acontecesse / arrancasse em Julho de 1996, em especial ao Paulo King Selecta, ao Tozé Fontainhas, claro, ao campeão - Licinio Pereira e mais tarde em 1998 o Marcos Alves (computer brain. lol) pela construção da 1a pàgina oficial de reggae em Portugal - www.reggaeportugal.com.

Foi, como todos os intervenientes se recordam, e por vàrias razões, apartida, um projecto que não teria "condições" para andar durante muito tempo, mas devido a vários factores, sendo um deles o ACREDITAR de vàrios parceiros musicais internacionais / artistas / bandas - alguns deles ainda hoje se mantêm - e muito pontualmente distribuidores nacionais / artistas e bandas, o programa que começou como "Cantos da Ilha" - 1996/98, "Solar Reggae" 1998/2005 e "Reggae Portugal" 2007/2011 na Kiss FM Albufeira e regressando em Junho de 2011 à Solar FM até então, fizeram com que ainda hoje aqui estejamos, sendo o programa ao longo destes ultimos 18anos considerado pelos verdadeiros entendidos na matéria (nacionais / internacionais) como um projecto de qualidade, qualidade essa, respeito esse, que deu e continua a dar origem a que cheguem semanalmente dos 4cantos do Mundo vàrios registos fisicos / digitais de promoção para serem divulgados apartir de um Paìs que em termos de vendas de mùsica Reggae, ainda hoje, apesar de uma evolução sem precedentes, não tem qualquer expressão, comparativamente com outros mercados.

Ao longo das pròximas semanas vou, em género de retrospectiva, recuperar singles, albuns, entrevistas, jingles, dubplates, no fundo momentos únicos / intrìnsecos que fizeram e fazem a historia de 18anos deste projecto, um projecto que assim como no 1° dia, ainda hoje me dà um prazer e um orgulho enorme produzir.

Um humilde obrigado a todos os que desde o "day one", se mantêm genuínamente firmes, convictos, no apoio ao projecto Reggae Portugal.

A mùsica reggae é uma missão, não uma competição.

Massive, we did complete on the last 7th of July 2014, eighteen years since the first reggae radio show live & direct from Solar FM in Albufeira.

I consider that is extremely important to credit all the persons involved, that actually contributed for the start of this project back in 1996, specially Paulo King Selecta, Tozé Fontainhas, the champion Licínio Pereira and later on in 1998 Marcos Alves (computer brain.lol) for the construction of the 1st official reggae webpage from Portugal – www.reggaeportugal.com

Have been, like all the intervenients remembers, for many reasons, a project that wasn’t supposed to stay alive much time, BUT, due the BELIEVE of various international reggae labels / artists / bands, and in a few cases some portuguese musical distributors / artists / bands, the show that has started with the name of "Cantos da Ilha" between 1996/98, "Solar Reggae" between 1998/2005 and "Reggae Portugal" between 2007/2011 at Kiss FM Albufeira, returning in June 2011 to Solar FM, is still running after 18years and considered by the ones who are really into the subject - a quality radio show – a show that started e continue receiving physical / digital promotional music from the 4corners of the Earth to be aired from Portugal to the world.

On the next weeks i’m going to the archives, to bring back to the show the singles / albums / interviews / jingles / dubplates, unique moments that has and still marks the story of the show on the last 18years.

An HUMBLE thank you to all that since the day one and still does genuinly support the reggae radio show.

Reggae music is a mission, not a competition.
